Hello everyone…
Thought I would stop by and post something. Not much going on this evening…Madi and I are watching a movie…Bekah is upstairs in her room cleaning it I think (well that is what she calls it…cleaning it LOL…gotta love a 9 year old’s concept of clean LMAO) and Mike is in bed. We went to the girls school tonight to meet their teachers. They seem nice (but don’t they always at the very beginning of the year?? LOL)
Seriously though…I think they are going to just fine in a new school. I think that things are going to be different than what they are used to only because the school up here seems to be a little behind the cirriculum they had back in PA. So…if I am correct in my thinking…Bekah will have an easier time in 4th grade here than she would have in PA and have an easier time here than she did in 3rd grade back in PA…Madi…well what can I say about the former 2nd grader that VOLUNTARILY grounded herself for getting a B on her report card in Reading?? She was so upset last year to get her first NON A grade in a class!!!! LOL Honestly…I think she might get bored. Half of what the teacher said that they will cover in 3rd grade here…she either has already done it for half of the school year in PA OR she has been working on it VOLUNTARILY at home in her practice books. I did warn her teacher that the things they are going to work on…like cursive writing for example…she did that in her old school for at least half the year and can write fully in cursive and read it very easily. She seemed impressed and said that she can’t wait to have her in class. (They all say that, don’t they?? LOL)
So *crossing fingers here…which makes it hard to type LOL* HOPEFULLY…this school year might actually be a nice one. Homework with Bekah last year was so exhausting for me…mentally and physically. I am hoping that isn’t the case this year!!!! Let’s just hope for the best, right??
This weekend is going to be a busy one for us. We have visitors coming in from back home to stay with us!!
Our first out of town visitors!! WOO HOO!!!!
The last time we lived away from PA, the only people that came to visit was my parents because Bekah was being born
and then my former sister (long story there…don’t ask LOL) came out to visit when Bekah was 9 months old because I was almost 3 months pregnant with Madi and Bekah developed a BAD BAD case of chicken pox. So she came out to help take care of her. Anywho…the point to this babbling is that I am REALLY excited to have Rich, Sharon, Destiny and Paige come up here for a visit!!!!
I am hoping that the longer we are here…we can get more people from PA to come and visit us!!
We actually have a place big enough to have visitors over for more than a few hours with everyone developing bad cases of claustraphobia!! LOL
Mike has to work 24 hour duty on Saturday though so the weekend is going to be pretty low key on the activities but I think it will very nice!! We did want to take them to a few places so they can see the area up here but we haven’t really had that much time to do much sight seeing ourselves so we are just going to do stuff that is close by. They will be arriving late tomorrow night (Friday) and staying until mid-morning Monday.
I will try and post something on here Monday afternoon or evening…although Mike is off tomorrow and Monday so I don’t know if I will have the time Monday. Maybe I’ll shoot for Tuesday…Mike will be working 24 hour duty again and the girls will be in school so I will have lots of quiet time to myself.
Yeah, Tuesday looks to be a better day for me to post again here.
Well, I am getting tired and we have a busy day ahead of us tomorrow to get last minute school stuff done and to prepare for the arrival of our guests for the weekend so I am going to head to bed. The movie is over that Madi and I were watching so it is time for her to go to bed too. Talk to you all again soon!!!!
Huggles!!
